Anand Kumar is a visionary cinematographer based in Chennai, with a passion for crafting immersive visual narratives. With a background in both extensive post-production and hands-on cinematography, Anand specializes in transforming imaginative concepts into breathtaking, cinematic experiences.
Moving to India from the US in 2014, Anand Kumar embarked on a unique journey that blended technical acumen with creative passion. He pursued Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Vellore Institute of Technology, Chennai, where he is set to graduate in 2025. His dive into the visual arts began early in 2018, as he started freelancing as an editor on platforms like Fiverr and Internshala. The creative explorations during the COVID-19 lockdowns, particularly in stylized photography, significantly shaped his distinctive cinematography style.
Anand fully committed to cinematography in 2023, following the acquisition of his Sony FX30. His career quickly accelerated with a year-long stint as an automotive journalist and Director of Photography for RevNitro, a prominent Tamil automotive YouTube channel. This role led him to collaborate with major brands like KTM, TVS Motor Company, Jawa, and Yezdi on impactful automotive advertisements. Beyond the automotive world, his cinematography has graced projects featuring notable artists such as Hiphop Tamizha, Benny Dayal, Shirley Setia, Sonu Nigam, and Akhil Oso. Today, Anand is a partner at Moonboy Media, a thriving media production company based in Chennai.
